Being found is no longer just about Google. Clients also want to be named when someone asks ChatGPT, Perplexity or an AI Overview for advice. You make that happen, for a growing group of clients and for Odyssee itself.
Right now Ilias, our digital strategist and agency lead, handles SEO, GEO and content publishing for every website we manage. The work is growing faster than one person can keep up with. You take over a large part of it, with room to do it better than it’s done today.
What you’ll do

Writing and publishing content
Write and optimise blogs, service and landing pages, and publish them yourself in WordPress.

Technical SEO and audits
Fix crawl and indexing issues, set up structured data and keep an eye on speed, using Search Console and SE Ranking.

GEO: visible in AI search
Measure how often clients are mentioned in ChatGPT, Perplexity and AI Overviews, and improve it with mentions, sources and our in-house citation engine.

Local SEO and reporting
Manage Google Business Profiles (nineteen locations right now), build monthly reports and explain to clients what it delivers.
What you bring
- At least two years of SEO experience, at an agency or in-house
- You write fluent, error-free Dutch
- Bachelor’s or master’s level of thinking
- You build and edit pages in WordPress yourself
- You use AI tools every day and critically check what they produce
- You keep track of several clients at once
A plus: Experience measuring AI visibility, with schema.org, or with tools such as SE Ranking, Ahrefs or Semrush.
Clear upfront, no surprises.
At 16–24 hours: €1,200 – €2,400 gross per month, plus 8% holiday allowance.

What is the difference between SEO and GEO?
SEO is about being found in Google’s search results. GEO (generative engine optimization) is about being mentioned and cited in the answers of AI search engines such as ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews. In this role you do both, because they build on each other: strong content, a clear structure and trustworthy mentions elsewhere on the web.
Can I work for Odyssee as a freelancer?
Yes. The SEO & GEO specialist and all-round marketer roles are open to both employees and freelancers. For employment we state a salary range; with freelancers we agree an hourly rate in the first conversation. Freelancers work under a service agreement and invoice monthly. Just state your preference in the form and we’ll work out the rest together.
What will I earn at Odyssee?
As an SEO & GEO specialist €3,000 – €4,000 gross per month on a full-time basis, as an all-round marketer €2,700 – €3,400. You receive this pro rata to your hours, plus 8% holiday allowance. Interns receive €400 per month for a full-time internship. Where you land within the range depends on your experience and on what you show in the case assignment. Freelancers agree an hourly rate in the first conversation.
What does hybrid working at Odyssee look like?
You spend your first month at the office in Edge Coolsingel, so you get to know the team, the clients and how we work quickly. After that, you decide where you work. At the office you sit with the team and clients regularly drop by, so if you’d like to come in more often, there’s always a desk for you.
Do I need to send a CV?
Yes, as a PDF or Word file of up to 5 MB. You’re welcome to add a LinkedIn profile or portfolio. We don’t ask about your current salary. No up-to-date CV? A PDF export of your LinkedIn profile is fine too; we mostly care about what you’ve done and how you think.
How long do you keep my data?
Up to three months after you apply. If you give permission, we keep your details for a year for future vacancies. Your CV is stored in a protected environment only we can access, and if you’d like everything deleted sooner, we’ll do it right away.
